The VX8600's speakers are decent, though not very loud.

The VX8300's speakers are awesome (for a phone), possibly rivaling some cheap laptop speakers. Both music and the speakerphone come through loud and clear.

The VX8600 has a flat keyboard with all the keys flush with the surface. This makes it much easier to accidentally press the wrong keys, and much harder to type without looking.

The VX8300 has nice, 'bumpy' keys which leads to fewer typing mistakes and the possibility of typing with tactile feedback alone.

The VX8600 has a cool, slick design. It's very thin, and fits nicely in a pocket.

The VX8300, while roughly the same length as the VX8600, is significantly thicker, making it feel bulkier. It's not ugly, but doesn't look great either.
